Fox News contributor Mary Katherine Hamm said Friday that the mainstream media has been “lazy” in reporting on Vice President Kamala Harris’ emergence as the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination. Hamm said the media doesn’t seem interested in the “power-sharing agreement” that appears to have been worked out between President Biden and Vice President Harris.

Mary Katharine Hamm: The question last night was hard to hear, but it was something like, “Mr. Vice President, what do you think?” It was a tough question for her, giving the reporters the opportunity for the first time to yell something at her. I think this is a total dereliction of duty on the part of the press. At this point, we don’t know if the Middle East is on the brink of a conflagration or if the Middle East is on the brink of a conflagration. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed A plea deal has been reached. There is a lot going on right now and I’m not sure who’s doing the job. President Biden answered some questions last night. And he stood stunned next to her while she answered the questions. I think we can all say this is some kind of power sharing agreement that the media has no interest in at all.

There is not a single article that discusses how we should be concerned about this. And if she wants to be President of the United States, we should know where she stands on the issues. She keeps putting out staff statements that she has completely reversed her decision. If the press doesn’t press her on these things, she is allowing herself to cosplay as the President in all the guises of the office, without the pressure of the office. And that is not fair to the American people, because they should understand exactly what they are getting into. … She needs to be pressed.

12 days: Kamala Harris hasn’t held a press conference since emerging as the presumptive Democratic nominee
Vice President Kamala Harris has not held a formal press conference in the 12 days since taking office. Democratic presidential candidate.
Harris announced she had secured the nomination late on July 22, declaring that she had received the pledged support of a majority of the roughly 4,000 delegates who will attend next month’s Democratic National Convention. Since then, she has been out campaigning, speaking at various events and speaking with reporters here and there, but has not held a formal press conference or extensive interview in the 12 days since.
She also did not attend the National Association of Black Journalists’ convention in Chicago, where former President Trump engaged in a heated Q&A on Wednesday. On Thursday, she gave a brief address to reporters at Andrews Air Force Base, where she and President Biden welcomed Americans released from Russia in a major prisoner swap, including Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich.
On “Outnumbered” on Friday, co-host and former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Harris is “trying to script her path to the presidency.”
“I think Kamala herself will lose in a historic landslide. Kamala and the media are a totally different pairing. That’s why Kamala’s new base is the teleprompter. She wants a scripted campaign. … That’s what she’s banking on. Where is the press?” she asked.
