Observations from Giants camp on Friday, August 2nd.
It caught my eye
Edge Brian Barnes put a nice spin move on RT Jermaine El-Emno and, had the tackle been allowed, would have gotten a fourth-down sack (one of multiple on the day) to end the ball-moving period. The play continued and Jones scrambled to fire a touchdown pass to Jalyn Hyatt, who got one of two great catches with a toe tap against the boundary line.
good
Cornerback Cordale Flott bounced back from a tough practice Thursday and won the majority of the practice, intercepting a pass against Hyatt and covering an overthrow to Isaiah Hodgins in the end zone. In his toughest game against Malik Neighbors, he won one on a one-handed deflection and lost one after being thrown in a blender.
bad
The starting offense backed off during the two-minute drill, resulting in Daniel Jones throwing a long fourth-down pass to Neighbors in the middle of the field that safety Jason Pinnock made an acrobatic interception.
Injury Report
OL Josh Ezeudu, who splits practice time between tackle and guard, was carried off on a stretcher after limping off the field near the end of practice, WR Isaiah McKenzie took a knee to the back during an end-around and was down for several minutes, and TE Jack Stoll left the field under trainer supervision after reaching for his knee.
