Simone Biles fires back at critics after husband criticized for wearing gold medal

Simone Biles has criticized her husband, Jonathan Owens.

The Bears safety Heartfelt message on Instagram After winning the gold medal in the team all-around, he sent Biles a message saying, “Every time I step on the mat, I witness history. Congratulations on becoming the most medal-winning American athlete in Olympic history!!!! Wow!!! Eight!!!!! I am so grateful I was there to watch.”

Fans were quick to slam Owens in the comments section for taking attention away from Biles by wearing his wife’s medal around his neck.

“No reason why they have the medal on there,” one Instagram user wrote.

“Why are you holding it like you won,” another commenter said.

“You’re holding Simone’s gold medal, not yours,” a third person posted.

Biles has since seemed to have had enough and responded to the hate her husband has been garnering on social media.

“The funny thing is I took pictures of everyone in my family wearing medals so don’t assume,” Biles wrote in a comment on Breaux’s TikTok video. “Like we’re all just super miserable. Leave us alone.”

Breaux later spoke out about Biles’ comments, acknowledging that her criticism may have gone too far.

“I’m honored that such a talented woman would tell me to ‘fuck off,'” she said in a second video. “I couldn’t be mad if she told him to ‘fuck off.'” [put the medal on] … He might actually be taking notes.”

Biles won the individual all-around gold medal, her second of the Paris Olympics, after helping the United States win the team all-around gold medal on Tuesday.

After winning the individual all-around title on Thursday, the 27-year-old gymnastics star wore a flashy necklace bearing an emblem resembling a goat, a nod to her status as the greatest gymnast of all time.
