Trump and Vance Should Blitz Working Class

Former President Donald Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) should be attacking the working class and calling for rebuilding communities in the run-up to the election, Breitbart News Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle said. War RoomSpeaking to Peter Navarro, he stressed that Vice President Kamala Harris has “not been truthful on this issue.”

Both Boyle and Navarro (Navarro was a former adviser to Trump who was recently released from prison for contempt of Congress) emphasized that Harris, who the Democratic Party officially selected as its candidate without a single voter voting for her, is not a working-class candidate.

“Maybe we need to shift the argument to say that, in fact, Kamala has not been truthful on these issues,” Boyle said, citing several examples.

“She’s dishonest on the border. She’s dishonest on crime. She’s dishonest on the economy. If we have that conversation, foreign policy and so forth, and that conversation is about the issues, we will win. That’s it, really,” he said, adding that former President Donald Trump spoke to these ordinary working-class people and urged them to “try hard like it’s 2016.”

“For white working-class voters in the upper Rust Belt, those are the people who decide the election, they’re union members, right? And you see that argument playing out right now. The United Auto Workers endorsed Kamala. They’ll do the partisan thing, but these groups of workers are being targeted and that’s what Trump should do,” he explained, referencing the film’s opening scene. Hillbilly Elegy, It’s based on Vance’s life.

“The mill in Middletown, Ohio, was the lifeblood of this community. … Everybody came to work there. Wives brought their husbands to work. It was literally the lifeblood and the lifeblood of Middletown, Ohio. And today, the mill is abandoned and closed. There are mills like this in towns all over America,” Boyle explained, citing states including Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Nevada.

Boyle went on to say that Trump and Vance should “tour empty factories across the country” and talk to local residents about how they plan to rebuild them.

“The elites are doing very well with Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s economy, right? The stock market is booming and all that,” he said, explaining that the working class is not.

“They’re up for grabs. They’re the focus of the campaign. If they can get hold of those people, things will turn around quickly,” Boyle said.

Navarro made a similar point, saying Vance needed to draw a clear contrast between himself and Harris.

“What Matt Boyle said before we went on break, and I just want to reiterate that before I come back to Matt, the campaign I dream of for J.D. Vance is for him to hold hands with his wife and do a road show, campaigning in small, medium and large venues as if he were running for governor. And he should spend 95 percent of his time campaigning for governor in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania delivering the message of how globalization is destroying the prospects of black, brown and blue-collar American workers and turning the Rust Belt into the globalized Dust Bowl of the world,” Navarro argued.

“Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, especially if Josh Shapiro becomes vice president. He should go to those states. Spend some time there and also stop in North Carolina, which Matt mentioned, where the furniture and textile industries were just destroyed by Communist China,” he continued.

Navarro stressed that Harris has taken the wrong position on virtually every issue and that the American people can see that clearly by listening to her own words.
