World’s More ‘Dangerous’ Than It’s Been in Almost Four Decades

On Friday’s MSNBC broadcast of “Morning Joe,” Gen. Thomas Bussière, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, said the world is now “more complex, more intricate and more dangerous than at any point” during his nearly 40-year career in the Air Force.

“Tell us how you’re feeling about the current situation, given these seemingly escalating threats,” co-host Jonathan Lemire, Politico’s White House bureau chief, said.

Bussière responded, “I’ve been in the Air Force for 38 and a half years, and as I see it, the world today is more complex, more complicated and more dangerous than at any time in my career. And the existence of nuclear weapons and the so-called threat of using nuclear weapons makes it even worse. That’s why it’s so important, in my view, that the U.S. Air Force and Navy realign the nuclear triad.”

later, USA Today “Is there anywhere you think we’re not going to be?” said Washington bureau chief Susan Page. [paying] — Is this an issue that keeps you up at night because we don’t pay enough attention to it, an issue that deserves more attention than it gets?
