Tyrod Taylor connects for touchdown pass during Jets scrimmage

Observations from the Jets’ training camp practice on Saturday.

Great guy

Coach Robert Saleh said Aaron Rodgers “looks like he’s never missed a game” since his Achilles surgery and called the returning quarterback, who played more than 40 innings in the Jets’ green and white scrimmage in sweltering heat at Florham Park on Saturday, “a great guy.”

Not so impressive

Not that there’s much to complain about, but center Joe Tippmann whiffed a shotgun shot over Rodgers’ head and running back Isaiah Davis lost a fumble.

The Rogers Report

Rodgers led three drives that ended in field goals against the Jets’ first-line defense.

He unofficially completed 19 of 30 passes for about 210 yards.

It caught my eye

The lone touchdown pass during the scrimmage was a downfield pass between backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jason Brownlee.
