Dems ‘Dead on the Side of the Road’ in Florida

Evan Power, Chairman of the Florida Republican Party, Breitbart News Saturday As Florida Republicans approach a 1 million voter advantage, Democrats are “out of favor” with the state’s voters, and what the party is doing to maintain its lead in the state.

In an interview, Power explained that to get to this point, the state’s Republican Party has fielded quality candidates who “ran on campaign promises” and kept or defended them. The party has also “empowered” the grassroots movement by giving people “the resources and materials they needed,” he added.

“I don’t think changing candidates is going to inspire Florida Democrats. Four years ago the Democrats were ahead by 100,000 votes. Next week the Republicans will be ahead by over a million. So the Democrats are doomed.”

According to the Florida Department of Elections, as of June 30, there were 5,257,407 registered Florida Republican voters, 956,443 more than the state’s Democratic Party. Website.

Asked about “efforts” Republicans have made to make Florida more Republican, Power said those efforts start with what kind of candidates they field.

“I think it starts with the candidates. In Florida, we had candidates who ran on campaign promises. And then candidates who were elected to government, state government and even Congress delivered on those promises — or, if you’re a member of Congress, claimed those promises. So what you’ve seen in Florida is we’ve become a beacon of freedom for conservatives because of the way our state government is run,” Power said.

“And we’re going to empower grassroots organizations at the county level, get them registered to vote, and give them the resources and materials they need to be successful. You see people registering because of the freedoms that Congress is giving them. You have a grassroots army encouraging them, getting them registered, getting them on the team. And now we’re going to get them out to the polls and we’re going to win Florida, we’re going to win big,” Power added.

When asked what “steps” the party is taking to ensure former President Donald Trump “crosses the finish line” and wins the state, Power explained that they are utilizing county parties and volunteers to get people out and about campaigning for candidates “from the top to the bottom.”

“What we’re doing is using all of our county parties and volunteers to campaign for our candidates from top to bottom. And the thing we have to remember is it’s really important that we win the school board races, the congressional races, the county commission races so Democrats don’t get a foothold in Florida again. We want to win, we want to send a strong message that Florida is no longer a contest, and we’re going to try to win every elected office we can and win the state by the largest margin possible. Grassroots organizations at the county level are being given the resources to get every Republican voter out to the polls. We’re calling it ‘Every Republican Vote’ because we want every Republican to send a message to the left that we’re going to win Florida, and we’re going to win by a big margin,” Power said.
