RFK Jr says he dumped dead bear in Central Park after ditching plan to skin it in bizarre video with Roseanne Barr

He had a very unique experience.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy has abandoned plans to skin a dead bear cub 10 years ago, seemingly admitting that he was one of the people responsible for dumping it in Central Park.

In a video posted to social media to pre-empt a forthcoming New Yorker article, Kennedy, 70, bizarrely said he and some buddies had been out drinking when they thought it would be a good idea to dump the dead bear in a park and “make it look like it’d been hit by a bicycle.”

The Kennedy heir claimed he hadn’t been drinking when he left an “old bike” in his car that someone had asked him to throw away, next to the dead animal.

At the time, a series of bicycle accidents were occurring locally and making headlines.

“Everyone thought that was a great idea, so we did it, and we thought it would be funny for whoever found out,” Kennedy said in a video he posted to X featuring sitcom actress Roseanne Barr.

In 2014, there was a media frenzy. Woman discovers dead bear Under some bushes, partially hidden by the bike.

Reports at the time said the bear was a cub, but Kennedy simply called it a “young bear.”

“I turned on the TV and there was like a mile of yellow tape and about 20 police cars and a helicopter flying overhead. I thought, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?'” he said.

“I was worried. [finger]The bike was covered in footprints. Luckily the story died out after a while.”

At the time, local residents were confused and many were frightened by the sudden appearance of the dead bear.

Kennedy claimed in the video that he had come across the dead bear while walking through the state on a falconry trip in Goshen, New York.

Kennedy claims that while he was driving there early in the morning, a woman driving ahead of him hit and killed a bear with her car.

“So I pulled over, picked up the bear and put it in the back of my van. My intention was to skin the bear, it was in pretty good condition, and I was going to put the meat in the fridge,” he recalled.

The environmental lawyer explained that he had obtained a hunting license for the bear that had died on the road, and planned to put the meat in his refrigerator later, but that a falconry trip had delayed him.

Later, instead of returning to his home in Westchester County, he had to rush to New York City because he needed to attend a dinner party, at which point he realized he needed to get to the airport, but the dead bear was in his car.

All of this led him to decide to dump the dead bear in Central Park.

“That’s because I’ve got a little bit of country in me,” Kennedy joked.

Kennedy predicted future coverage of the handling of the dead bear would be negative.
