Simone Biles missed out on her first Olympic medal at the 2024 Olympics after a rare fall.
Biles missed out on the podium in the penultimate balance beam event in Paris on Monday, becoming the fourth athlete to fall on the day at the Bercy Arena.
With a score of 13.100, Biles missed out on a chance to tie Larisa Latynina’s record for the most Olympic gold medals won by an American female gymnast at this event.
Several skaters ahead of Biles stumbled during their performances, including fellow American Suni Lee, who fell on the balance beam and missed out on a medal.
Biles wore a goat necklace because another GOAT, Tom Brady, was in attendance to support her.
She has won three gold medals so far in Paris, in the team event, the individual all-around and the vault.

The balance beam was the only individual event in which Biles won a medal in Tokyo, winning bronze after withdrawing from most events, including the twisties.
Biles’ fall created an opportunity for Italy’s Alice D’Amato, who won 14.366 points to win Italy’s first Olympic women’s gymnastics gold medal.
China’s Zhou Yaqin won the silver medal (14.366), while Italy’s Manila Esposito took the bronze medal (14.000).
