Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Monday on CNN’s “OutFront” that she hasn’t spoken to President Joe Biden since he decided to pass the baton and step away from the presidential race.
“The senators who were in 1, 2, 3 – Adam Schiff, Jamie Raskin, Zoe Lofgren – some of the senators closest to you – have made respectful statements saying it’s time for the president to step down. Some have said that to me, and I, having watched you for many years, thought, oh, they’re all Pelosi’s people. You have nothing to do with that, right?” guest host Dana Bash said.
“I have hundreds of people on my side in the United States Congress who I have nothing to do with. It’s almost insulting to ask them, because they are powerful people in the United States Congress. They make their own decisions and their own statements,” Pelosi said.
Bash asked, “Have you spoken to President Biden since he left?”
Pelosi responded, “No, we haven’t.”
Bash asked. “You hope so?”
“I hope so, because we’re all busy,” Pelosi replied.
Bash asked, “Is everything okay between you two?”
“I don’t know until I ask him, but I hope so,” Pelosi said.
