No one watched Mondo Duplantis’ pole vault victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics more closely than his girlfriend, Swedish model Desiree Englander, on Monday.
Shortly after Duplantis won gold in the pole vault final at the Stade de France, where he also set a new world record with a jump of 6.25 metres, Englander relived the jubilant night in a new video shared on her social media accounts.
The footage begins with Englander covering his mouth as he watches Duplantis from the stands.
Once over the bar, the 24-year-old Olympian ran over to the 22-year-old content creator and gave him a kiss to seal the victory.
“6.25 seconds world record and Olympic champion,” Englander posted to her Instagram Story on Monday. “Forever your number one fan.”

“I still can’t comprehend how amazing that moment was,” Duplantis said after the match, breaking her previous record of 6.24 metres set at the Xiamen Diamond League in April.
“It’s been a truly surreal experience, almost like an out-of-body experience. It’s still hard to wrap my head around reality.” Duplantis says.punched one of his teammates during a victory celebration.
“What can I say? I just broke the world record at the biggest stage for a pole vaulter, the Olympics. [My] “My biggest dream ever since I was a kid was to break the world record at the Olympics and I got to achieve it in front of the most enthusiastic crowd ever.”
Duplantis made his Olympic debut three years ago at the Tokyo Olympics, winning gold in the pole vault.
In the weeks leading up to the Olympics, Durpantis and Englander They were featured together in Vogue Scandinavia magazine.There they spoke about the early days of their relationship.
“I had just graduated from high school,” she recalls, “and I was like, ‘I’m going to do what I want to do, and no one can stop me.'”
Duplantis, the son of an American pole vaulter and a Swedish athlete, met Inglander while attending a midsummer solstice party in Stockholm in 2020.
“The problem is, the way people approach romance in Sweden is completely different than where I come from,” said Dalplantis, who was born in Louisiana.[Where I’m from] There’s a lot more conversation. You talk for a long time. So at the party, I just tried to talk to Desirée, like, ‘Hey, what’s up? I’m Mondo…’ and she didn’t want to have anything to do with it or with me. She just wanted to dance.”
Englander continues to support Duplantis at various events and shares footage of his big moments, including Monday’s, with her large social media following.
