A Texas family is believed to have died after the boat they were traveling in capsized off the coast of Homer, Alaska, over the weekend.
David and Mary Maynard, of Troy, have been missing along with their two young sons since their boat capsized Saturday during a family trip. According to Homer News.
A US Coast Guard spokesman told the outlet that the service called off the search on Sunday after 24 hours had passed without the Maynard family being found.
“The decision to call off a search is never made easily and requires careful consideration of many factors, including environmental conditions and search operations,” the spokesperson said in a press release shared with media outlets.
