Swedish model Desiree Englander was overjoyed after her boyfriend, Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, set an Olympic record on Monday, congratulating him on social media with just two words:

After clearing the 6.25-meter bar to win the gold medal, the 24-year-old Duplantis quickly ran over to give his model girlfriend a big kiss. Naturally, the kiss quickly I caught a virus On social media, New York Post report.

Englander quickly took to his Instagram account and said of Duplantis, “He’s the man.”
Duplantis and Inglander, 22, met in Stockholm in 2020, but their relationship developed slowly until a year later.
Duplantis is actually from the United States, but decided to compete for Sweden because his mother is from the Nordic country of Sweden.
“Désirée brings great balance to my life,” Duplantis says. Said trend“It’s really nice to come home and escape into a whole different world and just immerse ourselves in each other and what we’re doing. She’s a great travel companion.”
The now world-famous athlete said things didn’t go so smoothly when they first met.
“The problem is that in Sweden people flirt in a completely different way than where I’m from,” he said. Said trend. “[Where I’m from] There’s a lot more conversation. You talk for a long time. So at the party, I just tried to talk to Desirée, like, ‘Hey, what’s up? I’m Mondo…’ and she didn’t want to have anything to do with it or with me. She just wanted to dance.”
Eventually, she agreed to go on a date with Duplantis, and the two became good friends from there.
