Harris ‘Listened to the Hamas Wing of Her Own Party’ in Skipping Shapiro

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris “listened to the Hamas wing of her own party” when she chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) over Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) as her running mate.

Vance, who former President Donald Trump selected as his running mate last month, told reporters shortly after Walz was confirmed as Harris’ pick that he called to congratulate her and left a message on her answering machine.

But he also said:

Needless to say, the big news today is that Tim Walz has been nominated, no, presumptive, to be Kamala Harris’ running mate. In my opinion, this just highlights how radical Kamala Harris is. She’s someone who listened to the Hamas wing of her party in choosing a candidate. She’s also someone who proposes moving manufacturing jobs to China, wants Americans to become more dependent on trash energy instead of good American energy, and, like Kamala Harris, proposes defunding the police. I actually think this is interesting. They’re an interesting tag team. Because, of course, Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and Kamala Harris released bail on several of the people who were arrested afterwards. So it’s more instructive to say about Kamala Harris that she doesn’t care about the border, she doesn’t listen to crime, she doesn’t care about American energy, and most importantly, she doesn’t care about the American people who have suffered under those policies.

A reporter then asked Vance whether he thought anti-Semitism was the reason Harris didn’t pick Shapiro (who is Jewish and whose past pro-Israel views have drawn opposition from anti-Israel activists within the party).

He replied:

Well, that’s not what I believe, that’s what the Democratic leadership is saying. Many have repeatedly said that Kamala Harris dropped out of the running for Josh Shapiro because they were concerned about anti-Semitism. They were concerned about certain voters. They were concerned that some of the party’s leaders and grassroots activists would not accept a Jewish candidate. I think that’s despicable. It’s disgusting. But that’s what many members of the Democratic leadership have been saying.

Vance correctly pointed out that many Jewish Democrats had openly criticized their own party over its anti-Shapiro rhetoric, and after Walz’s selection, many wondered if Harris had succumbed to anti-Semitism within her party.

To make matters worse, Harris is scheduled to introduce Waltz as her running mate on Tuesday in Shapiro’s hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where it’s been known for days that Harris would be announcing there, leading to the conclusion that Shapiro was the front-runner, making Waltz’s choice even more shocking to political observers.
