Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) is a “progressive crank” and a “gym teacher activist,” Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) said. Breitbart News Daily.
Emmer, the House Majority Whip, responded Tuesday morning to Walz’s possible emergence as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, before the news was officially announced.

“This guy has governed like a Minneapolis liberal. He’s very progressive and, frankly, if he got elected, it’s because Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren won,” he said, identifying the two as “the people who have been advocating for this progressive crank to be the running mate.”
“If he’s selected as the vice presidential nominee, I can’t wait to debate J.D. Vance. J.D. Vance has the background, the history, he’s smart. Tim Walz is a gym teacher activist,” Emmer said, blasting Walz for choosing to protest at the Republican National Convention rather than representing the entire state as Minnesota’s true CEO.
“He’s not a leader and, quite frankly, he’s a political activist who is unfit for the White House,” he said, noting that both Harris and Walz are “completely in agreement about gutting our nation’s energy sector.”
“There’s no question about it. They are completely… Tim Walz has not voiced any opposition to an open southern border. Tim Walz doesn’t talk about the fact that it was Kamala Harris and all the Democrats who voted for this enormous spending frenzy at the beginning of the Biden administration that has created inflation that they haven’t seen in decades. It’s not just one thing that he and Kamala agree on, it’s everything,” Emmer said, predicting this will be a “problem” for Democrats.
“And I hope they choose it, because it will be a gift for us,” he added.
