Larry Elder To Return To Radio After 2-Year Break

Conservative libertarian talk show host Larry Elder is returning to radio after a two-year hiatus.

Salem Media Group Announced Elder said he will return on Monday and take over for host Brandon Tatum.

“We are pleased to announce that ‘The Sage of South Central’ has returned to his home on radio and television,” the statement read.

A 72-year-old elder participated for the first time. South Koreaof AM 870 Answer In 2016, his show was broadcast nationally by the Salem Radio Network.

Elder took a leave of absence from broadcasting in 2021 to join the recall effort of Governor Gavin Newsom (Democrat, California). Elder received the most votes among the 50 candidates vying to succeed him as governor, but Newsom was ultimately not recalled.

Elder announced his presidential bid in October 2023 but later withdrew his bid, endorsing former President Donald Trump instead.

Elder, 72, also keeps himself busy as the host of a podcast called “Larry Elder – We’ve got a Country to Save,” which continues to be recorded and is expected to get 500,000 downloads per episode.

In addition to the podcast, Elder’s show will again be broadcast nationally on the Salem network from 6-9 p.m. ET.

“At the request of the public, the guardsmen will be returning to duty,” Elder said of the return.

“Larry is one of those rare individuals whose popularity and influence has grown since he left radio,” said Phil Boyce, senior vice president of spoken word for Salem Media Group. “Today, we can hear his wise words every day on radio stations across the country, the Salem News Channel and the Salem Podcast Network.”

Tatum said he was “honored to make room” for Elder’s return and that he plans to continue to be a part of it on his YouTube channel, which has 3 million subscribers.
