Megyn Kelly blasts ‘Tampon Tim’ Walz over hjs ‘radical’ trans policies: ‘He’s another Gavin Newsom’

Megyn Kelly slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as the “most extreme” choice to be Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate, mocking him as “Tampon Tim” for providing free menstrual products to boys.

“I’ve been thinking about Waltz a lot since yesterday. He’s one of the most radical people on transgender issues,” the former NBC and Fox anchor said during a Wednesday broadcast of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

During Walz’s term, Minnesota was designated a “refuge state,” giving legal protections to children who travel to the state for so-called gender-reassignment treatments, including puberty suppressants, genital reconstructive surgery and hormone therapy, and to the doctors who perform the procedures.

Kelly likened the progressive Walz to California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom, who recently passed a controversial law aimed at withholding information from parents about their children’s gender identity.

“There’s little to no difference between the two,” she said, adding, “I’m scared because he could actually become vice president and even president.”

On Wednesday, in another post on her X account, Kelly called Walz “Tampon Tim,” a reference to his policy of providing free menstrual products to elementary school students, including transgender children.

A law signed last year requires schools serving students in grades 4 through 12 to stock tampons and other products in boys’ and girls’ bathrooms.

Walz was nominated by Harris on Tuesday and later accompanied her to a rally in Philadelphia.

“He owned the rallies,” Kelly said, adding that he was a better speaker than Harris.

“He’s much more effective than she or Joe Biden.”

Kelly said watching Walz’s speech “just brought fear up in my throat.”

“Because I know what he’s allowed to do in the state of Minnesota when it comes to kids,” she said.

Several Republican-run states have banned gender reassignment surgery on minors, and medical professionals who perform the procedure risk losing their medical licenses.

“I care about the kids, and he’s got his foot on the gas and he’s really committed to everything he does,” Kelly said of Waltz.

Kelly said Walz was “charming” and a better speaker than Harris, the now-former Democratic nominee. Reuters

“So when I saw him glowing last night, I flinched, even though I’m not going to vote for him and I’ve been honest about that… I get why she picked him.”

The Washington Post has reached out to Walz and the Harris campaign for comment.
