Former adviser to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway, has called on major media outlets to refrain from covering Vice President Kamala Harris’ rallies if she continues to avoid answering questions from reporters.
The Trump campaign has begun to criticize Ms Harris for taking very few questions from reporters about her public appearances since taking office, with Ms Conway, 57, arguing that she is doing so because the media has been too soft on her.
“To the mainstream media, I say the reason Kamala Harris is ignoring you is because she thinks she already owns you,” she told Fox News on Thursday. “She thinks the mainstream media is already under her control and that it’s on her side.”
“The media should counter this by not covering her rallies. Next time, don’t set up cameras. If she won’t answer questions, don’t allow her the services of covering the rallies.”
Harris, 59, has not given a formal interview or press conference since President Biden, 81, dropped out of the race. She has answered some questions informally in recent days, but her campaign has not confirmed any of the responses were published.
Conway, a Fox News contributor who hosts a show on the network’s streaming platform, spoke to Harris’ reporters outside Air Force Two in Wisconsin and praised Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance, 40, who was the subject of a runway showdown on Wednesday.
“Mr Vance’s actions yesterday were remarkable – he ran spontaneously across the runway, he moved up and down the street and forced reporters to cover the situation,” she said.
Conway’s praise for Vance comes at a recent Report from the Bulwark Some of Trump’s allies suspected her of badmouthing him and leaking information to the press.
“The guy who’s having the best week this week is J.D. Vance. I think he’s really hitting his stride as number two. The role of number two is to mirror the policy platform of the candidate and fight back a little bit as an attack dog for the other side,” she previously argued.

Vance has been answering reporters’ questions as he travels through battleground states to face off against Harris. Former President Donald Trump, 78, is scheduled to hold a news conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday.
Conway called Trump’s scheduled press conference a “very smart” move.
The Harris-Waltz campaign has ignored Trump’s criticism, accusing him of being attention-hungry.
“Donald Trump craves media attention and isn’t getting it, so he has been throwing tantrums at the media online and today at his country club,” Amar Moosa, a spokesman for Harris Waltz 2024, said in a statement.
“It is infuriating that as Vice President Harris and Governor Walz travel the country speaking about their vision for an America of opportunity and security, this self-centered convicted felon is getting no attention,” he added.
Conway, who ran Trump’s 2016 campaign and served as a senior adviser during his first term, recently registered as a lobbyist for Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk. For each document submitted Pursuant to the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
According to disclosures, Pinchuk’s foundation donated about $150,000 to Trump’s charitable foundation in 2015.
Conway met with President Trump in New Jersey last week.
President Trump discussed Ukraine with streamer Adyn Roth on Monday, offering his sympathy for the embattled country’s plight.
“It makes me sad to see the cities destroyed, the deaths and even the destruction of culture,” he said. “Apart from Kyiv, most of the cities are destroyed. It’s very sad.”
