The Trump campaign has made the media silence part of its rhetorical attack on Democrats. On Wednesday, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) walked up to reporters while sitting on the tarmac outside Air Force Two and mocked the Harris campaign.
“I thought I’d get a good look at the plane first because it could be my plane in a few months,” Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, said.
“But I also thought people might be feeling lonely because the Vice President hasn’t answered a reporter’s question for 17 days,” he joked.
Others Point out The candidates’ lack of media exposure has taken its toll.
“But for her to not speak to the media every day from now is a political blunder,” journalist Ron Fournier said. “Not doing that is a political blunder in itself. And secondly, it’s not good for democracy.”
