Delta Airlines planes Carolina Panthers The plane skidded off the runway early Friday after landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, just hours after the team’s first preseason game against the New England Patriots.
Delta Airlines Flight 8860 landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport just after 2:30 a.m., but the plane skidded off the runway and into the mud. WCNC reported.

The flight, which took off from Providence, Rhode Island, just before 1 a.m., was carrying Panthers players, coaches and staff, a source confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Delta Air Lines released a statement confirming that all 188 passengers on board were uninjured in the incident.
“The right main landing gear of Delta Flight 8860 disengaged from the taxiway at Charlotte Douglas International Airport after a routine landing,” the statement, via WSOC, read. “There are no reports of injuries to the 188 passengers who deplaned the aircraft and were transferred to a bus to the terminal. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
When reached for comment, the Panthers declined to comment beyond Delta’s statement.

The Panthers are back in North Carolina after their first preseason game of the season. The 2024 NFL season.
They lost 17-3. Patriots Most of the starters were absent for the game at Gillette Stadium. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, the top pick in the 2023 draft, did not play. Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo, outside linebacker DJ Johnson and cornerback Dane Jackson were the only starters who played Thursday night.
It was also the Panthers’ first game under new head coach Dave Canales.

“Tonight was a game for rookies that haven’t had a chance to play in the NFL. What they discovered tonight is, this is just football. They ran and they played hard,” Canales said after the game.
“For me it was a great opportunity to talk to the coaching staff and the umpires. I got to get a sense of the flow of communication and work within that, so it was great practice for me.”
The Panthers New York Jets The next preseason game is August 17th.
