Chandler, Ariz. — Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kali Lake said Thursday that the Democratic presidential candidate poses a danger to her state, especially when it comes to border security.
Lake spoke at a campaign event with several families affected by border violence and smuggling, and also spoke to Fox News Digital after the event.
Lake said ahead of a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris scheduled for Friday in Glendale that the Democratic presidential candidate will likely visit Arizona again without stopping at the southern border.
Lake criticized Harris’ role as a so-called “border czar” and praised former Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s “build the wall” policies.
“Apparently, only Waltz [Harris] “The person she’s endorsing is the vice presidential candidate…” Lake joked, referring to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lake called on Harris to go to the border after the rally, adding that “the people here don’t like her.”
“We are living in a nightmare [Harris, President Biden and U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego] It was created,” she said.
Lake said Gallego, a Democrat vying to succeed retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona, had “endorsed” the Biden-Harris border agenda.
Lake added that Harris, Walz and Gallego represent “the three musketeers of policy nightmares.”
On that note, Lake denied claims that Republicans were not supporting her after her narrow loss to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in the last gubernatorial election.
She pointed to Karyn Taylor Robeson’s endorsement of her during her tough 2022 gubernatorial primary and noted that there are many rank-and-file American Democrats who have spoken out in support of her candidacy.

The event, held at the Maricopa County Republican Party office in Chandler, included Lake, along with Reps. Eli Klain and Andy Biggs, as well as families affected by an open border.
Among those in attendance were parents who have lost children to the fentanyl crisis and local resident and former Democratic supporter Jade Gillon, who said that as an African-American, she supports Trump because life has been better under his administration, regardless of race.
Lake invited Gillon to the stage to give a speech comparing his life under Trump and Biden.
“We’re working six days this week,” Gillon said, suggesting Democrats are stoking fears about President Trump.
“The situation is worse under this administration than it was under Donald Trump, and yet they’re telling me to be afraid of the man who made my life better? It doesn’t make sense.”

In his remarks, Klain criticized the media for failing to report concerns about Biden’s sensitivity, while arguing that controversy over Walz’s military record is “fairly common in Washington.”
“One of the things that concerns me most about Kamala and her running mate is how close they are to socialism,” Klain added.
“Some of the things they’ve been talking about about socialism and how it’s like being a good neighbor, if that’s what you want. If that’s what the American people want, we can continue on this pain train.”
Hannah Goss, a spokeswoman for Gallego’s Arizona campaign, countered that the Democrat is a Marine combat veteran who believes in border security and has fought for more Border Patrol agents during his time in Congress.
“[Gallego has fought to] “We will fix our broken asylum system, crack down on fentanyl trafficking, and invest in proven technology — all to strengthen our border security,” Goss said.
“Kari Lake, on the other hand, is a power-hungry liar who will do and say anything to gain power, even if it means desperately false attacks on Reuben’s record.”

Thursday’s event also highlighted a coalition of “Democrats and former Democrats supporting Kali Lake and putting America First,” following the Harris campaign’s announcement of “Republicans Supporting Harris.”
Gallego also launched Republicans and Independents for Reuben in key battleground states, and was notable for voting with the Republican majority on the Laken Riley Act.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Harris’ campaign for comment.
