Yesterday was an interesting day on the track, and today eight more gold medals will be awarded.
First, a recap: Team USA brought home some gold medals thanks to Grant Holloway in the 110m hurdles, Tara Davis-Woodall in the long jump, and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who broke her own world record in the 400m hurdles. Non-binary runner Nikki Hiltz qualified to compete in tomorrow’s 1500m final. Team USA track and field star Noah Lyles had his Olympic appearance cut short following a COVID-19 diagnosis (but still won a bronze medal in the 200m).
Sha’Carey Richardson returns to the track today as the anchor of the 4x100m relay, as the U.S. women’s team looks to overturn a medal drought in the event that began in 2004.
