She feels personally betrayed, but she joined the military in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Lieutenant Colonel Gabbard, who serves in the U.S. Army Reserves and has served in three war zones countering extremism, expressed concern that her family may be at risk and that “she is not the only veteran or service member on this list.”
“This goes against the very core of the First Amendment, which was purposefully created by our founders to protect our freedom of speech, whether it’s to praise our government or criticize our government,” Gabbard said. “It’s the bedrock of who we are as a nation.”
Recently, several federal air marshal whistleblowers have come forward with information indicating Gabbard may be participating in the Transportation Security Administration’s “Quiet Skies” program.
According to For the Department of Homeland Security, the Quiet Skies program adds “another layer of risk-based security by identifying individuals who may pose a high security risk, in addition to those on other federally administered watch lists, so that TSA can take appropriate steps to address and mitigate that risk.”

These rules apply for a limited time and to a limited number of travelers. Meeting a risk-based rule does not constitute adverse information about an individual.”
Some have speculated that Gabbard’s criticism of the Washington establishment’s reflexive interventionism and her departure from the Democratic Party may have prompted her to join the Quiet Skies program. While Gabbard was troubled by “their insane, tyrannical thinking,” she told Beck it was no surprise the Democratic administration would target her: “As we’ve already seen evidence of over the last four years, they will use every tool of power they have in government to attack those they perceive as threats to their power, those they perceive as political opponents.”

“They see those of us who legitimately criticize government and its corruption and abuses of power as a domestic threat,” Gabbard continued. “And they say that publicly. They say, ‘Hey, if you criticize public institutions, you might be a domestic extremist or a terrorist.'”
In recent years, it has been much easier to be suspected of being a potential domestic terrorist than to criticize the state.

“The only reason I can assume is that they are coming after me because I’m telling the truth and revealing who they really are,” Gabbard told Beck.
The former congressman noted that the possibility of joining Quiet Skies has already had a chilling effect, saying he now faces “the constant stress of knowing I’m being watched by the government and wondering if and how I’m being watched. How are they monitoring what I do? Are they tapping my phones? Are they reading my emails and text messages?”
Gabbard stressed that it is impossible to live freely under the rule of a regime that “will not hesitate to weaponize anything it can get its hands on.”
She added that the situation reminded her of “Stalin’s methods”: “Find me the perpetrator and I will tell you about his crime.”
