Gina Carano responds to rumors about Elon Musk using her lawsuit in Disney acquisition scheme

Actress and former mixed martial artist Gina Carano recently
rumor South African billionaire Elon Musk may be using his lawsuit against Disney to drive down the company’s share price and ultimately buy the company at a favorable price.

Fellow actor Matthew Marsden spoke to Blaze News at length about the significance of Musk’s potential Disney purchase and what it would mean.

background

Carano played Cara Dune in the hit Disney series The Mandalorian, giving the show a truly strong female lead. But in February 2021, following the end of the show’s second season, just months after she jokingly infuriated LGBT extremists,
state Her pronouns were “beep/bop/boop.” Lucasfilm fired Carano and forced her to research it herself from second-hand sources.

“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and does not have any plans to be in the future.”
said “Nonetheless, her social media posts which denigrate people based on their cultural and religious identity are abhorrent and unacceptable,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson said.

“He wants justice.”

What’s she angry about? A post pointing out the parallels between COVID-19 authoritarianism and the rise of Nazi Germany, and how political hatred can grow into something truly terrifying.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors and even by children.”
post “History is edited so that most people today don’t realize that the reason Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews was because the government first made sure their neighbors hated them simply because they were Jewish. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Meanwhile, Disney has repeatedly denied making similar Nazi comparisons and all manner of other comments by its own left-wing talent. Crazy political commentary.

A few months after Carano’s firing,
Rasmussen Poll The survey found that 59% of Democrats support confining unvaccinated people to their homes, and 48% of Democrats support jailing people who question the effectiveness of experimental COVID-19 vaccines.

Earlier this year, Carano broke the trappings of her firing by Disney.
state:

In truth, from everything I posted to every post I “liked,” I was hounded for not aligning with the accepted narrative of the time. My words were consistently distorted, demonizing and dehumanizing me as an alt-right extremist. It was a bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying and making an example of me.

His open offer The group provides legal assistance to people who have been fired for exercising lawful free speech, and in February filed a lawsuit against Disney for wrongful termination and gender discrimination.

The lawsuit accuses Disney of harassment, defamation, a “post-termination smear campaign,” and attempts to make Carano conform to the corporate giant’s views on Black Lives Matter and gender ideology.

Disney tried desperately to block the lawsuit in the months that followed, but to no avail, while its stock price continued to fall.

Skeptical of rumors, but open to change

Carano made an appearance on Friday
episode She spoke with the host of “The Shawn Ryan Show” for about four hours about a variety of topics, including her Christian faith, her sudden expulsion from Disney and her plans for the future.

Carano made it clear that while the cancellations have made her life extremely difficult, she won’t give in to Disney: “I don’t worship your company and my God is greater than Disney.”

While her faith clearly helped her along, she stressed the importance of the support she received from Musk.

“Without Elon Musk, we would be in a really horrible situation,” Carano said. “He wants justice. I’ve never met him or spoken to him, but I don’t think I’ll ever be more grateful for what he’s done in my life.”

Later in the interview, Ryan raised the issue of Elon Musk potentially buying Disney.

Musk publicly stated
stated “Disney sucks” comments he made back in February fueled such speculation. said “I’m just here with some friends thinking about companies to buy,” said a reporter at the film’s premiere.

At the time, Musk was attending the premiere of the film “Lola” with Nelson Peltz, the billionaire activist investor who had previously expressed interest in buying Disney.

In April, Musk suggested he would buy Disney stock if Peltz was elected to the board. Posts“His track record is impressive.”

Peltz said: criticized He was unable to secure a seat on Disney’s board of directors because of Disney’s infatuation with race-obsessed people and its recent inclination toward salacious themes. The Hollywood Reporter Shown In May, Peltz sold his entire stake in the company for $120 a share, a total value of about $1 billion.

“I hope so.”

“Buying Disney is a big deal,” says a WDW pro at That Park Place, an independent entertainment news outlet.
Suggested this week.

“That’s why funding Gina Carano’s lawsuit is not only to help her, but also a major component of our strategy to drive down the stock price,” he elaborated. “And one of the ways to drive down the stock price is to expose what goes on behind the scenes at Disney through discovery and depositions and to make it public.”

Musk acknowledges that the lawsuit will have an impact.
write On July 26th, “The discovery of this affair will be devastating to the woke mind virus that controls Disney.”

Ryan told Carano: “The longer this litigation goes on and the more heavily Elon gets involved, the more Disney’s stock price will fall, and I’ve heard rumors that Elon may be thinking about possibly buying Disney.”

Between the filing of the lawsuit and April, Walt Disney Company’s stock price rose gradually, but has since been on a downward trend.
stock The stock is trading below $86. It is unclear whether there is any correlation, let alone causation, between this incident and the stock price.

“Do you think that’s reasonable?” Ryan asked.

During the interview, Carano said she has never met Musk in person, saying, “I have no idea. I think there are a lot of rumors. But I think it would be great if he met.”

“I hope so,” Ryan said.

The actress quickly launched into a blistering denunciation, explaining why she thinks it’s vital that people with differing opinions stand up against bigotry and intolerance in Hollywood.

Carano has been invited to speak at conservative and Republican events, but she said she doesn’t want to shy away from the culture wars or cede critical territory to radicals, so she seeks out venues and events where she isn’t necessarily welcome.

“I want to stay in the art world because that’s where people shy away from and that’s where we need to be,” Carano said. “Someone needs to fight in the art world.”

Blaze News attempted to reach out to Carano to ask whether she would be willing to return to Disney with Musk at the helm to reprise her role as Cara Dune or create content for the company, but did not receive a response by deadline.

What is an acquisition and what does it mean?

actor
Matthew Marsden Speaking to The Blaze News, he explained that people are generally aware of Disney’s institutional importance and how Musk, one of the few tech billionaires to stand up for free speech against censorship, resurrected Disney X. Naturally, this understanding has created expectations that Musk might try to replicate his success at Disney.

“Do I think he’ll buy Disney? Well, I hope so. Do I think he will? Probably not,” Marsden said.

But Marsden noted that Musk seems to be a long-term thinker, and the decline and potential division of Disney (such as the sale of Lucasfilm and Marvel) could create opportunities in the future that are too good to ignore for him — so while an acquisition is possible, it’s not imminent.

“I think Disney is in free fall, and if Elon gives it a few more years, Disney will just continue to decline,” Marsden said, noting that current management seems intent on alienating fans and continuing to repeat the same mistakes that have led to a string of box office failures.

The problem with buying at this stage is that the nature of the production and schedule means it would have to cover the costs of an educational film that Musk planned and paid for long ago.

“I think he’s going to have to cancel a lot of the movies that are in production right now, which is a bit of a problem because there’s a lot of investment in them, but they’re going to have to be canceled,” Marsden said. “If he’s going to buy it, he’s going to have to lay off a lot of people because a lot of DEI people are employed there.”

The actor suggested that the type of Disney talent that produced “Acolyte” should be a success.

Fortunately, Marsden noted, there are plenty of filmmakers, storytellers and craftsmen inside and outside of Disney who are frustrated with the status quo and want to get back to the kind of content that once made the company great.

Marsden also suggested that Musk should curate Disney’s content so that families can leave their kids alone with Disney shows and movies without worrying about their minds being poisoned again.

As for potential advisors, Marsden suggested it would be beneficial for Musk, or any deep-pocketed billionaire willing to step in, to bring in figures like Nerdrotic, Critical Drinker, Geeks and other online commentators familiar with Disney’s current predicament.

Marsden suggested that reforming Disney would be a bigger win than simply building an alternative because it is “best in class.”

“This is the best kids’ content company in the world,” Marsden said.Glenn Beck We love Disney. We all do. I certainly grew up loving Disney. I loved going to Disney. It was such a magical place. … Disney is more than just a company, you know? It’s something very special and it embodies American values.”

Marsden continued.

If you’re talking about other companies, it doesn’t really matter. Sony or even Universal, you know, are not as important as Disney and what Disney represents. Elon targeted X. If he targets Disney, I understand why he would, but it’s a much bigger thing.

In other words, reclaiming the Magic Kingdom would mark a monumental shift in the culture wars.
