Vice President Kamala Harris’ first immigration-related campaign ad touts her record as a “tough prosecutor” but says nothing against President Joe Biden’s border policies that encourage more migration and wealth transfers.
“She’s trying to deceive the voters. [and] “She is assuring her supporters that she will continue and expand the open border policy that has been in place for the past three years,” said Jessica Vaughn, policy director at the Center for Immigration Studies.
WATCH — Inslee: Harris will address border issues ‘in her inaugural address’:
The ad shows that she “pretends to enforce laws at the border while allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants into our country through our inadequate immigration system.” [“orderly and humane”] “We’re going to chart a course and then let state and local governments clean up the mess,” Vaughn added.
The ad reads:
Kamala Harris has fought violent crime for decades. As a border state prosecutor, she took on drug cartels and jailed gang members for smuggling weapons and drugs across the border. As Vice President, she supported the toughest border control bill in decades, and as President she will hire thousands more Border Patrol agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking. Fixing the border is hard. So is Kamala Harris.
Will this convince Americans that what we have all witnessed over the past four years did not happen? Will it convince us that the millions of illegal immigrants who entered (and continue to enter) the United States under a Biden-Harris administration do not exist? https://t.co/bYut1qjHgq

The ad mirrors the bait-and-switch arguments of Harris’ campaign speeches, such as when she told attendees of a July 30 rally in Atlanta, Georgia:
I was an Attorney General for a border state. In that role, I walked alongside police officers through the underground tunnels of the U.S.-Mexico border. I hunted down international criminal organizations, drug cartels, and human traffickers who were crossing into the United States illegally. I prosecuted them, case after case, and won. Meanwhile, Donald Trump talks big about securing the border but does nothing to secure it.
Since the beginning of 2021, President Joe Biden’s pro-immigration border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, has admitted more than 10 million legal, illegal and semi-legal economic migrants, at a huge cost to American wages, housing costs, taxes, home prices and civil peace.
In response, Biden tasked Harris with “stopping” migration through many countries during a White House event in March 2021. “When she speaks, she speaks for me. She doesn’t have to check with me,” Biden told Mayorkas, camera crews and a global audience.

Harris is Biden’s broad range commission “By focusing on the ‘root causes’ of migration.”[We] “We have to address the root causes of why people have to travel,” she said.
Since then, Biden has effectively tasked Mayorkas with driving the country’s extractive immigration economic strategy.
Mayorkas is a pro-immigration enthusiast who has opened numerous quasi-legal loopholes that allow millions of economic migrants to cross into the U.S. He and his “extraction immigration” policies are supported by the same network of California investors, employers and donors that Harris also supports.
Mayorkas has rejected any criticism of his deadly, wealth-shifting policies. “The rights and needs of individuals receiving humanitarian assistance in the United States cannot be used for political purposes,” he told ABC News on January 1.
Mayorkas also helped draft the border bill recommended by Harris and her media allies in February 2024. “I pledge to you, as president, I will reinstate the border security bill that Donald Trump killed and sign it into law,” Harris said in Atlanta.
WATCH — Democrat Gov. Grisham talks about whether Gov. Harris should ease up on decriminalizing border crossings: She supports what we need:
The Mayorkas border bill would enable a surge in migrants by allowing the operation of so-called “asylum squads” at the border, whose members would have the irrefutable power to issue green cards to economic migrants who make “clear and convincing” asylum claims. Five years after receiving a green card, immigrants would be able to obtain citizenship and vote in national elections.
“The border will never be closed… This will allow for a more orderly and humane asylum processing system,” declared a leading Democratic senator who was instrumental in negotiating the border bill.
Harris’ ads and speeches have not mentioned Mayorkas or his immigration policies. But in June 2021, Harris said Echoed Mayorkas emphasized his pro-immigration theme, saying, “The president and I are committed to ensuring that our immigration system is orderly and humane, and I believe we are making progress on that front.”
Democrats, who supported Mayorkas’ “orderly, humane” border bill, also rejected the House’s comprehensive immigration reform bill, HR2.
of According to a public opinion poll How is Harris’ campaign going? Reported On August 7, Reuters reported under the headline “Kamala Harris Takes Hardline Stance on Border Security”:
Harris has made border security legislation a centerpiece of her policy platform, and her digital campaign ads frame the election as a choice between “those who will fix our broken immigration system and those who will try to stop her.”
Vaughn added that Harris’ claims of a hard-line stance on the border are also false.
First, as a California prosecutor, she was notorious for being soft on members of international gangs like MS-13 and 18th Street, participating in fugitive programs that escorted gang members to airports to return them to Central America, and, as California’s Attorney General, forcing a sanctuary policy for all law enforcement agencies and preventing them from working with ICE to remove criminals.
She “continues to tell lies to make people believe them.” [her] “That’s a lie,” Vaughn said.
In contrast, Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), have focused on the social and fiscal damage caused by Mayorkas’s welcoming of millions of immigrants.
“Harris is the worst border secretary we’ve ever had,” Trump said on Aug. 8. “Under the Biden-Harris administration, 20 million people have come across the border… Right now we have people who can’t buy bacon, they can’t buy food, they can’t buy groceries, they’re struggling financially because they can’t do anything, and they’re just living horribly in our country right now.”
Extract Migration
Since at least 1990, the federal government has quietly adopted extractive migration policies to grow the consumer economy after helping investors relocate high-wage manufacturing sectors to low-wage countries.
Immigration policies extract huge amounts of human capital from impoverished countries: additional workers, white-collar graduates, consumers, renters. Boost stock prices By cutting American wages, subsidizing less productive businesses, raising rents, and sending real estate prices soaring.

Donald Trump’s campaign recognizes the economic impact of immigration. Biden’s unpopular policies “flood the American workforce with millions of low-wage illegal immigrants, a direct attack on the wages and opportunity of hard-working Americans,” the Trump campaign said in a May statement.
This secretive economic policy has siphoned jobs and wealth from the Midwestern states by providing coastal investors and government agencies with a flood of low-wage workers, over-occupied renters and subsidized consumers. Similar policies are harming the people and economies of Canada and the UK.
Policies like colonialism have also harmed small nations and killed hundreds of Americans and thousands of immigrants, including: Taxpayer-Funded Jungle Trail Through the Darien Canyon in Panama.
