Hezbollah fired around 30 rockets from Lebanon into northern Israel on Sunday night amid ongoing tensions in the region following the assassination of Hamas’ top leader last month.
The series of rockets was reportedly fired after an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon injured 12 people.
The Iranian-backed terror group said it launched the attack to support Palestinians in the war-torn Gaza Strip and in retaliation for Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. According to CNN.
Israeli Army said More than two dozen Hezbollah rockets fell into the air, but no one was injured.
As Israel continues its military operations in the Gaza Strip following the October 7 attack, the area remains rife with uncertainty since the assassination of Hamas’ top leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran last month.

“The IDF and security services are constantly monitoring our adversaries and developments in the Middle East, particularly Iran and Hezbollah, and constantly assessing the situation,” IDF spokesman Maj. Gen. Daniel Hagari told CNN.
“The IDF remains fully deployed and prepared. If it becomes necessary to change instructions, we will provide updates in an orderly manner through official channels.”
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Sunday ordered a missile-equipped submarine to be sent to the Middle East and directed the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to rush to the region, the Pentagon said.
According to the Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Austin met with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant early Sunday and reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to “take all possible steps to defend Israel” and “noted that in light of increasing tensions in the region, we are strengthening U.S. military posture and capabilities across the Middle East.”
