Joey Logano’s chances of a second victory of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season vanished during overtime of the Cookout 400 at Richmond International Raceway on Sunday.

Logano battled with Austin Dillon for the lead going into the final corner, and it looked like Logano would take the win, but Dillon made contact with Logano, sending him spinning into the wall, and Dillon also made contact with Denny Hamlin, sending Hamlin into the wall.

Friction is a part of racing in NASCAR, but Logano was furious with Dillon.

“That’s bullshit. No question about it,” Logano told NBC Sports shortly after the crash. “He was four car lengths back, not even close. And he wrecked 11 cars. And then he’s going to go out there and praise God and everything with his kid. Total bullshit. Not even close.”

“I get it, I hit it and I got away. I got it. I wasn’t even backing around the corner. He came in there and ran past me. It’s ridiculous that we raced like that. I can’t believe it.”
