JERUSALEM — The Hamas terrorist cell’s use of paragliders in the Oct. 7 massacre of about 1,200 people, including more than 30 Americans, in southern Israel was part of a meticulous plan first revealed by Fox News Digital.
Hamas military plans obtained by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip reveal the lengths to which the Iranian regime-backed terrorist organization has gone to deceive the world about its use of aerial sports equipment.
The Hamas document, originally written in Arabic, translated into English and seen by Fox News Digital, shows how the terror group was looking to exploit the wider use of paragliding: “The sport should be developed so that paragliding is motorized. One area where this sport can be used from a military perspective: landing behind enemy lines as part of covert infiltrations across borders using paragliders,” the document reads.

The document continues, “This can be done by using silent launch positions; camouflage for military experiments and training; reducing costs through dual use with civilian experiments; opening up the possibility of using civilian activities in other sports that could benefit military activities; and benefiting from foreign intelligence obtained through civilian activities.”
Terrorists in paragliders swarmed the Supernova music festival on Kibbutz Laim and took part in the massacre of over 300 attendees.

The Hamas document further states, “Vision: to establish a military and civilian aviation force for the liberation project. Problem: the occupying forces are trying to prevent the establishment of this force and are countering this by all means. One solution: to expose this pattern and work to integrate it into society so that the enemy does not put an end to it. Somehow create a reality that forces the enemy to accept this.”

According to Hamas’ action plan, the “steps” necessary to mainstream the paragliding system in the Gaza Strip include “carrying out private private experiments with paragliding and publicizing them on social networks and in the world press; encouraging adventurous young people to become interested in such sports; establishing specialized clubs for this sport in the Gaza Strip, encouraging a competitive spirit and making the sport more widespread; creating groups and pages on social networks to introduce the splendor and fundamentals of the sport; the Ministry of Youth and Sports must support the sport; the sport must be linked to the World Paragliding Federation (FAI).”

Brigadier General Amir Aviv, a former deputy commander of the IDF in the Gaza Strip, told Fox News Digital: “Paragliding was first used in 1987, when Palestinian terrorists attacked the Beit Hillel base in the north from southern Lebanon, killing six soldiers and wounding 10…We have been dealing with this threat for years. This is not new and Hezbollah certainly has this capability. Today we have much more advanced capabilities to detect and destroy these types of threats.”

In July, Israeli warplanes bombed a storage facility for paragliders used by Hamas on October 7. The airstrike on the Rafah paraglider storage facility was significant for Israel because the image of a Hamas terrorist on a paraglider was used as a symbol on clothing and posters by Hamas supporters around the world. Neo-Nazis and the Chicago chapter of Black Lives Matter have glorified Hamas paraglider terror attacks. Mohammed Jehad Ahmad, a public school teacher in New York City, also posted an image of the same Hamas paraglider on his Facebook page.

Emory University reportedly fired Dr. Abeer Abu-Yabis, an assistant professor at the Emory School of Medicine and a staff member at the Winship Cancer Institute, in November for praising Hamas’ airstrikes against Israel.
“They got the wall / We got the gliders. Glory to all resistance fighters,” Abu Yabis wrote, an apparent reference to the paragliders that Hamas fighters used to ambush an Israeli music festival in the early hours of the Oct. 7 terror attacks. “Palestine is our demand. No peace on stolen land / We won’t pay a nickel or a dollar / We will pay for Israeli genocide / We won’t pay a nickel or a dime / We will pay for Israeli crimes.”
