Colin Jost shares foot injury update after exiting Paris Olympics

Do your best.

Colin Jost shared a hilarious “foot update” on Instagram on Sunday after a foot injury and multiple ailments forced him to leave his job as an NBC correspondent covering the Tahiti Olympic surfing competition.

The 42-year-old comedian filmed the video in front of the Mediterranean Sea on the island of Malta, speaking to the camera as if he were a news reporter.

“Hey, are you OK? That’s the most common text message I’ve received in the last 48 hours. Usually followed by, ‘I heard your leg fell off,'” Jost began in the video.

“No, I’m actually fine!” he added. “And despite mainstream media conspiracies, I was not ‘homed’ from the Olympics. NBC simply looked at my food, legally declared me a leper and exiled me here to Malta!”

Jost continued: “There may not be any Olympians competing from Malta this year, but there are thousands of 15-year-old British kids competing to see who can black out the fastest, and somehow they all win. And there’s a casino behind me where I’ve wasted a few hundred dollars I earned as a surfing correspondent.”

“But the real reason I’m in Malta, of course, is because there have been 10 outbreaks of bubonic plague in Malta, so they thought I would fit in here.”

After making a few more jokes about Olympic breakdancing competitions, foot photos and peacocks, the “Saturday Night Live” star thanked the people of Tahitian “for their warmth, their hospitality, their generosity and for occasionally looking at my feet and whispering, ‘Chupacabra!'”
