Family and friends of Oklahoma State University students who were allegedly drugged while vacationing at a Cancun resort are revealing more details about the horrifying events that took place.
“It really hits home as I sit here tonight and think about exactly one week ago when our worst nightmare began,” said Stephanie Snyder, whose son, Jake, is in a relationship with one of the girls allegedly drugged. “This time last Friday, we were in constant contact with our son by phone while his girlfriend was in what’s called the intensive care unit in a hospital in Mexico… She was so sedated she couldn’t open her eyes or talk.”
Shocking photos shared by Zara Hull and her family show the moment she and Kayleigh Pitse lost consciousness after drinking the contaminated water on August 1.
“I called my mom around 10am that morning and told her how beautiful and amazing the resort was. By 4:30, Jake called my mom and told her I was totally disoriented and it felt like I’d disappeared or lost consciousness,” Hull told Fox 32 News.

Jake returned the girls to their room, but had to take Halle to a local hospital after she began vomiting and having what appeared to be a seizure.
In her latest social media post, Snyder said the nightmare continued even after Jake took her daughters to the hospital.
“He wasn’t allowed to stay with his mother. We had to pay $200 for him to stay in a room on the second floor for the night. It was on the second floor of the hospital and that floor was completely vacant. The room was just a hospital room. The door couldn’t be locked from the inside, only from the outside,” Snyder said.

Snyder added that her son was afraid to sleep or close his eyes for fear someone would come and do something to him. Jake wasn’t allowed to see Hal until the next morning.
When his son was able to see Hal again, Snyder said she was on a ventilator and Jake was told they were taking her elsewhere for an MRI.
“He told them to stop everything to get her out. We told him, ‘Don’t let them take her out, don’t let her do anything else. We were working to get them out!'” Snyder said.
Snyder added that his biggest fear is that something worse could happen.
“We believe they were planning to take her for trafficking or for her organs (we later heard this is a common occurrence). They probably also wanted to do something to my son, possibly even kill him,” Snyder continued.

Snyder said the incident happened and should serve as a warning to others traveling to resort destinations abroad.
“Guys, this happens all the time. It happens to people all the time. It could be you or your family next. Please be aware. As parents to Jake and as parents to Zara and Kaylee, we still can’t close our eyes at night because these things still haunt us,” Snyder said.
“Jake will never forget the hell he put Zara and himself through to get him out of there alive. Zara and Kayleigh are horrified that all that happened to them is what we’ve talked about and they have no memory of what went through their ordeal, but they are tormented by the fact that it happened to them,” Snyder continued.
