White House Called Biden’s Immigration Policy the ‘Biden-Harris’ Policy Since 2021

The White House has dubbed the Biden administration’s immigration and border policies “Biden-Harris” policies, despite a belated attempt by Vice President Kamala Harris to distance herself from the worst mistake of her four years in office.

It’s true that Harris’ first focus was to implement what Biden called a “root causes strategy.” At the time, the focus was on the so-called “Northern Triangle” — Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador, where the majority of migrants were coming from. But Harris clearly understood that her responsibility extended to the entire migrant population, perhaps because the flow of migrants was primarily from that region. Over time, migrants Anywhere.

It is no excuse to say that she only focused on three countries. If she had done her job in those three countries, the problem would not have grown. In addressing the “root causes,” she ignored and perhaps exacerbated the fundamental problem: the Biden-Harris administration was not prepared to strengthen border security or to track illegal immigrants in the country and deport them on a large scale to their countries of origin.

The centrality of the Northern Triangle and the role of Harris’ “whole of government approach” Expressed In an April 2021 press statement, National Security Advisor (and Russia “collusion” fabricator) Jake Sullivan stated:

President Biden has asked Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the Administration’s efforts in Mexico and the Northern Triangle, a sign of the Administration’s emphasis on improving conditions in the region. The Vice President is overseeing a whole-of-government effort supported by outstanding interagency civil servants, including Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, who were tasked by the President with restructuring the immigration system early in his administration.

Harris too Discussed “I discussed the issue of illegal immigration in general with the Mexican president. While Mexico is not a major country of origin for migrants, it is a country through which migrants pass. The Vice President emphasized that addressing the issue of illegal immigration to our borders is a top priority for the Biden-Harris Administration.”

The “root causes” of the Northern Triangle were not incidental to the policy, but were at the heart of the Biden-Harris policy. Harris’ name was put on the policy and she was asked to give it credit, but it was doomed to fail because neither Biden nor Harris placed any emphasis on securing the US border, enforcing immigration laws, or deportations.
