Real subtle finale Amazon Prime presidential assassination

“The Boys,” a TV series about rogue superheroes, has been one of Amazon Prime’s most successful shows of all time, but with each season, producers have undermined the show by emphasizing social wokeness, and as the characters and storylines have become more political, its popularity has declined.

Going back a little, in this season of The Boys, the writers knew from the beginning that the character of Homelander, who is the face of the entire series, Donald Trump parody In other words, a left-wing version of Donald Trump.

Homelander and his followers are portrayed as racists, sexists, fascists, and just plain evil. His character is a reflection of the mainstream media’s constant cries of “Trump is Hitler!”

Interestingly, the final episode of The Boys aired on July 18, less than a week after the near-assassination of President Trump. But believe it or not, did they decide to hold off on airing the episode, which centered around a plot to assassinate the president (scheduled for January 6) and Homelander’s plan to take over America and jail anyone who disagrees with his plan?

No, it wasn’t.

The finale aired as scheduled, but the episode’s original title, “Assassination Run”, was changed to “Season 4 Finale”. The producers also included a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode stating, “Viewer discretion advised. This episode contains scenes of fictional political violence. Any similarities to recent events are entirely coincidental and unintentional. Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony Pictures Television and the producers of The Boys strongly oppose real-world violence of any kind.”

“You’ve just spent an entire season thoroughly scathing about American conservatives, and now your season finale is airing just days after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, and in that season finale you also feature a political assassination attempt by a parody character of Donald Trump,” Lauren said, adding that she “personally wouldn’t want to be on Amazon’s PR team.”

“Basically the overall message of The Boys season 4 is that conservatives are domestic terrorists, they’re the real threat, they’re the violent ones,” she continues.

Furthermore, as for Amazon’s disclaimer, Lauren argues that it was necessary because the show’s attempt at satire failed.

“I think satire is best expressed when it’s, frankly, more layered, less obvious and more thematic than simply parodying a particular person or a particular event,” she says.
