Walz knocks Trump's AI crowd claims

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (Democrat) on Wednesday denied former President Trump’s false claim that crowd photos at Vice President Harris’ campaign rally in Detroit were altered with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

“I can assure you that in Detroit, it was not an AI, and I can assure you that every vote that’s going to be cast from now on will not be an AI,” Walz told a crowd at a fundraiser in Denver, drawing cheers, according to a tally report shared by the campaign.

“There is no safety net,” Waltz told the packed audience, prompting Colorado Governor Jared Polis (Democrat) to quip, “Are you saying everything isn’t AI?”

Trump falsely claimed last week that photos of a crowd of several thousand people waiting for Harris’ arrival in Michigan had been doctored, even though attendees and associates had documented the crowds. Fact-checking to refute AI claimsThe former president, who has long boasted about the attendance figures at his events, claimed “there was nobody there.”

“This is an actual photo of a crowd of 15,000 supporting Harris-Waltz in Michigan,” Kamala HQ said. The account fought back On social platform X.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) warned that with his claims, Trump was “laying the groundwork for election denial.”

Walz’s visit to Denver is part of a multistate fundraiser this week and his first solo event since Harris selected Walz as her running mate, as the pair crisscross the country visiting key states with less than 90 days until Election Day.

The Denver fundraiser was held at the home of Democratic major donor Tim Gill and was attended by Walz, Polis, Colorado Secretary of State Jenna Griswold, Rep. Joe Negoz (D-Colo.), and other prominent Colorado Democrats.

The Minnesota governor spoke to the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Association in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where he pushed back against attacks on his military record by Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio).

Following his visit to Colorado, Walz was scheduled to travel to Boston before traveling to Newport, Rhode Island, and Southampton, New York, on Thursday.
