Republican pollster Frank Luntz said early Friday that if he were to offer advice to former President Trump, he would tell him to “stop acting like a whiny child.”
“If I were to give him advice, I would look him straight in the eye and say, ‘You need to shut up. You need to stop acting like a petulant child and start focusing on what the American people want, in a way that they want to hear it,'” Luntz said. said CNN This Morning, hosted by Anchor Casey Hunt.
Republicans have been pressuring Trump to focus on his policy differences with Harris after weeks of personal attacks on her Democratic rival. After weeks of uncertainty about whether President Biden would withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, Harris has gained momentum and sparked excitement within the Democratic Party.
“Look, if I yell at you every time I appear on the show, you’re going to stop appearing on the show and you’re going to stop listening to me,” Luntz told CNN.
“Trump doesn’t get it. People need to tell him the truth, because at this point she’s thriving at the convention. Recent polls have Harris catching up with Trump. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll has Harris leading Trump by four points in key battleground states like Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
