Former “Jeopardy!” host Mayim Bialik has revealed that she is dealing with health issues and will be undergoing hyperbaric therapy for the next six months.
The 48-year-old actress opened up about her health on social media as she posed in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.
“WHAT THE HECK?!?” Bialik captioned the Instagram post. “This is me in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber in my house right now! Yep. I will be using this for the next 6 months as it has been recommended by many people I trust (including several of my doctors) to help with inflammation and autoimmune issues…”

Although the Big Bang Theory star admitted his health issues have left him feeling anxious, he shared several photos of himself flashing a big smile inside a hyperbaric chamber.

“I know it might seem crazy and Hollywood-y, but I choose to be open (to a fancy way of saying it!) to the many health benefits this room can provide,” she continued.
“I’ll be reporting on this room (surprisingly spacious and not actually claustrophobia-inducing!) as my roommate for the next six months.”

The neuroscientist has previously raised awareness about mental and physical health on her social media platforms and through her “Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown” podcast.
Last August, Bialik told fans she had been hospitalized and was concerned about her health.

While she was hospitalized for a routine colonoscopy, she took the opportunity to encourage others to continue to get this type of preventative screening and not feel embarrassed about it.

“Growing older isn’t much fun,” Bialik admitted in the caption, “especially when it comes to having to get regular colonoscopies that you wish you didn’t have to have.”

In the video she shared, wearing a hospital gown and no make-up, she said: “Everything is fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine. But today I’m going for a routine check-up which is recommended for people of a certain age.”
She explained at the time why she wanted to make a video on the subject, “Because I think if we don’t talk about these things, there’s a greater chance that people won’t pay the necessary attention to certain aspects of our physical health that connect to our mental health.”

According to the CDC, adults are recommended to have regular colonoscopies starting at age 45 or earlier if they have inflammatory bowel disease or a family history of colon cancer or polyps.
