Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said Vice President Harris is aligned with President Biden on their approach to Israel, noting that while both are strong supporters of America’s allies, they are also prepared to criticize Israeli leaders if they see them as obstacles to peace.
Moulton defended Harris’ campaign when asked about a pro-Palestinian protester calling the party’s candidate “Killer Kamala” in an interview on NewsNation’s “The Hill Sunday.”
“Yes, I do,” Moulton said when asked if he was pleased with her campaign on Israel. “She’s basically continuing the Biden administration’s policies.”
“The Biden administration has been very supportive of Israel, but has also been prepared to criticize Prime Minister Netanyahu when it felt that his administration was not doing enough to ensure a long-term peaceful resolution to this conflict,” Moulton continued. “This is the same view, incidentally, currently echoed by many in the IDF and Israeli intelligence.”
Moulton, the former Marine officer, said both Harris and Biden see de-escalating tensions as a priority.
“I absolutely want to see this war end, but I also want to see Israel win and defeat Hamas,” Moulton said.
“I think the Harris administration wants to continue U.S. policy and support our ally Israel, but also want to end this conflict and prevent it from escalating into a larger war in the Middle East that would require the deployment of U.S. troops,” Moulton said.
Harris recently began silencing pro-Palestinian protesters at her rallies. At an event in Detroit, Michigan. “If you want Donald Trump to win, say it. If you don’t, I’ll say it,” Harris told protesters last week, drawing applause from her supporters.
