Chechen leader drives gun-mounted Tesla Cybertruck in video praising Elon Musk

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video of himself driving a Tesla Cybertruck with a gun mounted in the back.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to Elon Musk. He is, needless to say, the greatest genius and expert of our time. A great person,” Kadyrov said in a Telegram post, translated by The Moscow Times.

The Moscow Times reported on the post that Kadyrov had invited Musk to visit Russia.

Kadyrov, who ruled the Russian republic of Chechnya for 17 years, has long been a staunch ally of President Vladimir Putin. The 47-year-old has boasted about sending thousands of troops to support Putin’s war in Ukraine, adding in a Telegram post that he wants to send gun-mounted Cybertrucks to the front lines of the conflict.

“Given these excellent characteristics, the Cybertruck will soon be sent to areas of special military operations and will be in high demand under the right conditions,” Kadyrov said in the post.

The Cybertruck, an electric pickup truck developed by Musk’s Tesla, was unveiled by the company in 2019 and production began last year.
