Former CNN host Don Lemon seemed surprised that voters in the historically Democratic state of New Jersey were saying they would support Donald Trump in the election. Lemon spoke to people in Atlantic City recently and tried to defend Vice President Harris in a video he posted on Saturday.

“Trump will win,” the first interviewee said, adding that Vice President Harris was not fit to play the lead role.

“Does it have anything to do with being a woman?” The former CNN host respondedand the person said it had nothing to do with her gender.

Harris quickly replaced Biden as the top Democratic candidate after the president announced he was dropping out of the race following weeks of pressure from Democratic lawmakers.

“Four years ago it was a lot better than it is now. We were making a lot more money than we are now,” said another voter.

Lemon countered, “I know that’s what you think, but the actual record shows that’s not the case. The economy has performed better under Biden.”

“No, I’m serious,” Lemon added, and voters laughed.

“Do you watch CNN?” the voter retorted.

One voter Lemon spoke to said he thought Harris would win the election but planned to support Trump because she “doesn’t have the experience.”

“She’s the vice president and she’s a senator,” Lemon countered.

The next woman in the video said she wanted Trump to win and that she wanted someone with a “stronger military record.”

Lemon told interviewees that Harris has served as a prosecutor, attorney general, senator and vice president.

Other voters said they were supporting the former president because of Harris’ record on immigration and the border crisis.

Lemon’s video ends with the reporter saying, “We need to get out of Atlantic City. Where do we go next?”

A former CNN reporter recently said, Stopped in Pittsburgh A survey in Pennsylvania found that most voters they spoke to planned to support Harris.

“It’s about time. It’s not enough to just have women represented.[ing] “She’s not just a representative of a country, she’s a woman of color. I think she can represent a broader range of people than anyone we’ve seen before,” one woman told Lemon.

Harris’ campaign announced Wednesday that if she becomes president, she would “institute a federal ban on food and grocery price gouging” to stop “big corporations” from taking unfair advantage of consumers.

Washington Post columnist Katherine Rampell criticized Harris’ proposal, writing, “It’s hard to overstate how bad this policy is.”

“But more importantly, if your opponent claims you’re a ‘communist,’ maybe they shouldn’t start with an economic policy that could (accurately) be called federal price controls,” she wrote. “We’ve already got a ton of economic nonsense coming from the Republican presidential candidate. Do we need more from his opponent?”
