Joe Biden’s speech at the Democratic National Convention was scheduled for 9:50 p.m. local time.
His speech was postponed by more than 30 minutes and taken out of prime time.
“This is awful,” one Biden aide reportedly said.
Things didn’t get any better when the speeches began.
The New York Post called the speech “angry” and “bitter.”
Biden was scheduled to speak at 9:50 p.m. local time, but was delayed by lengthy remarks from earlier speakers, including Hillary Clinton and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who praised Biden’s time in office after pushing him out of office.
The delay forced the president out of prime time.
Biden ended up speaking at 10:27pm local time, 11:27pm Eastern time, with a limited live audience – about half of Americans live in the Eastern time zone.
He finished work in New York just after midnight.
“This is awful. He literally launched his campaign and handed it over to them. Should they remove him from prime time?” a Biden aide told Axios.
Donald Trump slammed Biden’s speech as a “rage-filled rant full of lies.”
In an angry, false speech, Biden took credit for everything that was done under Trump, even going so far as to say he was better on inflation and jobs. He made no mention of the disaster in Afghanistan, all the wars he got us into, or the fact that far more people died from Covid under Biden than under Trump. Nearly 100% of the jobs Biden/Harris “created” were due to illegal immigration coming into our country that is destroying the lives of Black and Hispanic people!
