“I hate to start off with this, but I’ve read in the news reports of what appears to be a tragic family incident,” Carlson said at the start of the news conference. 2 hour interview“Your daughter is chasing you.”
Last week’s “Dumb Blondepodcast, Schneider’s daughter, “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer Elle King; Accused She confessed that her father neglected her to focus on his acting career and criticized her body shape at a young age.

“I love you, Elle,” he said, looking into the camera. “I wish I could have been the father you needed when you were in your twenties. But clearly I wasn’t. I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings.”
“I love you with all my heart. I love you with all my heart. I want you and your beautiful baby, Lucky, to be healthy and happy. I wish you the best. This is very hard on me. I want you to know that I don’t take anything you say personally,” he added.
Schneider also spoke about his conversion to Catholicism, which he first announced at X last October.
“I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he declared at the time.
He also expressed gratitude to his wife, Patricia, and their three daughters.
After speaking to Carlson about the generational trauma his family endured, with his mother surviving a Japanese attack in the Philippines during World War II, Schneider said he thought of Jesus Christ after seeing the life-changing transformation of a friend who converted to Christianity as a young man and was welcomed by other Christians.
“I met these people who were just so happy and content,” Schneider said of how she found her faith, “and I thought, ‘What is going on with these people?’ I was in middle school and I thought, ‘What is going on with these people?'”
He noted that one of his friend’s brothers was “a very conflicted kid” growing up, “having some issues and trying different things,” and then he remembered how he “suddenly became the calmest person to be around.”
Schneider said she was overwhelmed by her friend’s kindness when he invited her to church, and that it stayed with her even as an adult.
“When I spend time reading the Bible and spending time with other Christians, I feel the presence of Christ,” he said.
“It’s powerful, it’s moving, it’s healing,” he said. “So while I was on the road, in the back of my mind there was always this thought, ‘I’m never going to go away.'” He said he came to believe Jesus was telling him, “I’ll be there when you need me most.”
Schneider also expressed gratitude for all that he has gained in life despite the challenges.
At the end of the interview, Schneider read out comments he received from friends after hearing the news about his daughter.
“We have spent most of our lives being our own worst enemies, often hurting ourselves badly as a result of righteous indignation at minor mistakes. No doubt there are many causes for indignation in the world, most of which are justified. But we cannot solve all the world’s grievances or even arrange things to please everyone,” he read.
“If we have been wronged by others, or simply by life itself, we can avoid making our difficulties worse by fully forgiving those involved and letting go of the destructive habit of dwelling on our own hurt and humiliation,” he continued.
The actor then ended the interview with a prayer.
“Thank you, Jesus, for this time and for giving me the opportunity to share my thoughts in this wonderful conversation with my new friend, Tucker,” Schneider said as they both bowed their heads.
“And may God bless this great country and protect our children. May God bless my daughter, all daughters, and all those who have problems in the world. And I thank you for all the opportunities that you have given us. In the name of Jesus, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
“Amen,” Carlson replied.
