Former President Donald Trump campaigned Rally The event, held in North Carolina on Wednesday, was the first outdoor event since last month’s assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.
During the rally, Trump spoke from behind bulletproof glass as part of increased security measures following the July 13 shooting. Storage container For added protection, security cameras were installed around the perimeter of the event and snipers were stationed on the venue’s roof.
“I’d like a doctor please.”
Trump began his speech by referring to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ recently released interim annual benchmark report, which revised down the Biden-Harris administration’s inflated job growth projections by 30%, something the former president called a “huge scandal.”
“This is not a correction. It’s a complete lie,” Trump said. “The Harris-Biden Administration has been found to have rigged jobs statistics to hide the true extent of the economic devastation they have wreaked on America.”
Midway through Trump’s speech, in which he spoke about national security, he suddenly stopped and drew attention to the commotion in the crowd.
“What’s the problem?” Trump asked the attendees.
“Doctor!” some in the crowd shouted back at him.
“Oh, please, a doctor,” Trump requested. “It’s so hot here. It’s so hot. A lot of people have been waiting days to get here, so I understand.”
While medical teams attended to a woman who briefly lost consciousness in the crowd, Trump emerged from behind protective glass and stepped off the podium, he approached the crowd to check on the woman, who had regained consciousness, and embraced her before returning to the stage.
Supporters responded by chanting “We love Trump.”
As he took the podium, Trump thanked his supporters and said, “They’re coming two or three days early, which is pretty stressful.”
He quickly returned to his national security speech, in which he slammed the current administration’s deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Middle East conflict.
“Everywhere I go, soldiers and veterans tell me they’re angry that no one has been held accountable for the disaster in Afghanistan. He hasn’t fired anybody,” Trump said.
Trump said that if elected president, he would call for the immediate resignation of “all senior military officials” involved in the failed withdrawal, and declared that 8,000 service members who were discharged from the military for refusing to take the mandatory COVID-19 vaccine would be rehired under his administration with back pay.
“From the moment I take my oath of office and take my hands off the Bible, I will work to restore America to its greatest strength and restore peace to the world,” Trump declared. “Comrade Harris, you’re fired.”
