Dr. Phil to air interviews with Trump, RFK Jr. after campaign announcement

Dr. Phil McGraw plans to air interviews with former President Trump and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the coming days after Kennedy announced he was suspending his campaign and endorsing Trump.

Trump’s interview with McGraw will air on Aug. 27, while Kennedy’s interview will air on Aug. 28. Both interviews will air on Merritt Street, the cable television network and app McGraw founded.

After Kennedy stopped campaigning and endorsed Trump, McGraw met with Trump in Nevada and with Kennedy in Phoenix, Arizona.

Leading up to Kennedy’s speech, there was little agreement or unity among insiders about what Kennedy’s plan was.

Kennedy was reported to have reached out to both Trump and Harris’ campaigns to discuss his political future, but only Trump accepted the offer.

Kennedy said Friday that his name would remain on the ballot in most Republican and Democratic states but would be removed from the ballot in battleground states where he thinks he could make a difference between Trump and Harris.

During the interview with Trump, McGraw asked the former president how he felt about Kennedy’s endorsement, to which Trump responded that he was “very honored” because he thought Kennedy was “a smart man who loves our country.”

“I think he’d be a great addition and it’s possible that we might bring him into the administration. We haven’t talked about it yet, but it’s possible. But I think he’d have a lot to contribute,” Trump said.

Trump said he believed Kennedy could make a big contribution to his campaign. In his interview with McGraw, the former independent candidate acknowledged that polls would have favored Harris had he stayed in the race.
