A “possible cyber attack” caused a series of delays at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) as the Port of Seattle dealt with an “internet and web systems outage” on Saturday.
In a statementThe international airport said the outage began Saturday morning due to a “possible cyberattack” at the Port of Seattle.
“Early this morning, the Port of Seattle experienced a systems outage indicating a possible cyber attack,” officials said. “The port has isolated critical systems and is working to restore full service.”
As of 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, 247 flights were delayed and six were canceled at the airport. According to FlightAware:.

The airport said it did not estimate how long it would take to return to full operating capacity, but was working with authorities and partners to assist travelers affected by the outage.

“We are working closely with authorities and partners to assist travelers who may be affected. If you’re traveling today, please check with our partner airline for travel advisories and allow extra time to get to Seattle Airport and your gate,” the airport said. “For a smoother airport experience, please retrieve your mobile boarding pass and checked bags for your flight through your airline’s app before arriving at Seattle Airport.”

The power outage is said to have affected several systems at the airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration declined to comment on the delay and referred FOX Business to SEA officials.
