Chris Hemsworth debuts new skill at Ed Sheeran concert

Chris Hemsworth has another skill to add to his resume.

The “Avengers” star showed off his newly acquired drumming talents at an Ed Sheeran concert.

Sheeran and Hemsworth shared the video on social media as part of a preview for the second season of Hemsworth’s National Geographic series “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.”

In the video, Sheeran says, “Basically what happened is Chris emailed me last December and said he was making a documentary about cognitive health and the benefits of learning an instrument. He came to visit me and has been learning the drums ever since.”

The “Shape of You” singer did not reveal the date or location of the concert, but added that Hemsworth will be performing in front of 70,000 people.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,” said the 41-year-old. “I hope this brings closure.”

The second season of Limitless with Chris Hemsworth is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2025.

During the first season, a series of blood tests by Dr. Peter Attiah revealed that the actor was at a high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

“We’ve had all the blood work done,” Attiah told Hemsworth, “and you have two copies of APOE4. One set comes from your mom and one set comes from your dad.”

Hemsworth’s grandfather died of Alzheimer’s disease after filming the episode, and as he explained in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, his father is experiencing the early symptoms of the disease.

“I know my dad is coming to the realization that he’s no longer the big, strong guy with all the answers that everyone looks to for guidance,” he said.

The “Thor” star took a break from acting shortly after the episode went viral, sparking speculation that he was retiring due to the illness or that he was already showing symptoms.

“I felt like I shared this as a show of personal vulnerability, and it really upset me,” he admitted to Vanity Fair in May.

“No matter how much they say it’s not a death sentence, it ended up being about him getting dementia, rethinking his life and retiring.”

Hemsworth lives in Australia with his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, daughter India and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, who live with his parents.

Though he’s no longer in Hollywood, he’s still committed to filmmaking, but he wonders how much longer he can keep going.

“For the first time in my career, I’m starting to think, ‘Oh man, how many more years can I do this?'” he said. “I was just looking at my producing partner yesterday, my list of movies I want to do, a little bit of a wish list, and I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s six. Maybe the next 10. Maybe that’s all I’ve got.’ You never know where you’ll be at that point.”
