SC sports reporter Matt Vereen arrest on sexual exploitation of a minor charges

A local South Carolina sports journalist was arrested last week after child sexual abuse material of an underage girl was discovered on his laptop, according to prosecutors.

Matt Vereen, 28, was suspended from his on-air job at WACH Fox 57 after being charged with sexual exploitation of a minor on Wednesday.

“WACH FOX News understands the seriousness of these allegations and Vereen has been suspended until the investigation is complete,” Vereen’s employer said. He said in a statement. “As this is a personnel matter, the station will refrain from making any further comment at this time.”
