California Democrats Propose $150k in Home Loans for Illegal Aliens

The California Democrat has proposed offering $150,000 in mortgages to undocumented first-time homebuyers.

The bill has already passed the California Senate and is currently being considered in the state Assembly, both of which are controlled by Democrats.

POLITICOA newspaper reporting on the bill ran a headline that seemed to suggest Democrats should drop the bill because it would hurt Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign: “California Democrats Want to Help Illegal Immigrants Buy Homes During Presidential Election.” Reported.

It reads as follows:

With immigration now a hot topic in the presidential election, California has proposed a first-in-the-nation bill that could allow undocumented immigrants to get state-backed home loans of up to $150,000.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who serves as the top surrogate for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, declined to say whether he would sign the bill if it passes the Legislature by an Aug. 31 deadline. Newsom is likely to make a decision as Harris has moved to the right on immigration issues after Republican candidate Donald Trump criticized her over the influx of migrants to the U.S.-Mexico border in the early days of the Biden administration.

Additionally, Americans were told that illegal immigrants would not be covered by Obamacare, but California subsequently expanded Medi-Cal, the state’s Medicaid program that was significantly expanded by Obamacare, to cover illegal immigrants.
