“The term is typically called pre-election campaigning,” Schmidt, a former Philadelphia city commissioner who clashed with Trump online after the 2020 election, explained to Fox News Digital. “Many other states allow county commissioners to begin that process before Election Day — whether that’s three days, seven days, or even longer. But in Pennsylvania, counties can only begin that process at 7 a.m. on Election Day.”
In early November 2020, Pennsylvania officials warned that it could take several days to process mail-in, polling place and absentee ballots, Breitbart News reported on November 2.

According to a Breitbart News article, on November 10, 2020, the outlet reported that Republican state legislators had called for a congressional-led audit of the election results and demanded that “the election results not be certified and electors not selected until the audit is completed.”
Notably, a Marist College poll in June found Trump narrowly ahead of President Joe Biden (Democrat) in Pennsylvania, but the results were released before Biden dropped out of the race.
A more recent poll showed Trump leading Harris in Pennsylvania ahead of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Breitbart News reported on August 19.
“The Insider Advantage poll, which surveyed 800 voters between Aug. 18-19, 2024, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points, showed Trump leading Harris by just one point (47% to 46%),” the outlet reported.
