Wife Cheryl Hines Urged Him to Meet with Trump

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said in an interview with Tucker Carlson this week that his Hollywood star wife, Cheryl Hines, encouraged him to meet with former President Donald Trump rather than avoid him.

Hines was rumored to have been skeptical of Kennedy's alliance with Trump, and Kennedy's critics took to social media to accuse him of opposing his wife's decision on Friday to endorse Trump for president.

But as Kennedy told Carlson: summary), she ultimately urged her husband to give Trump a chance.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wasn't sure about meeting Donald Trump because he thought it would be “a no-go” for him to meet with his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, he told Tucker Carlson in a new interview. But when he called his wife about it, she told him to listen to what Trump had to say. The couple then met in person with the former president and his campaign manager, Suzi Wildes.

Asked if he'd be interested in speaking with Trump, Kennedy said he told campaign officials “I don't think I'm interested.”

“And part of the reason for that was because I felt like I couldn't talk to Cheryl,” Kennedy explained, “so I called Cheryl and she was like, 'You should listen to them.'

Hines is best known for playing Larry David's wife on the sitcom. Curb Your EnthusiasmHer co-star, Bradley Whitford, Hit She blamed her husband for his decision, accusing him of staying silent while his “crazy husband supports the conviction of a rapist” (a New York jury found Trump not responsible for “rape”).

Kennedy on Friday stopped campaigning in 10 battleground states to endorse Trump for his support of free speech, the war in Ukraine and his work on children's health issues, and said Democrats were “dismantling” democracy rather than protecting it by trying to remove him from the ballot in many states while naming Vice President Kamala Harris as their nominee without a vote or media interviews.
