Independent Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. said Tucker Carlson said in an interview this week that, unlike former President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris declined to meet with him.
“I reached out to her, I reached out to a lot of people who are very close to her both personally and within the Democratic Party, including my own relatives,” Kennedy said, “and they just said, 'You can't do that. There's no way she'll talk to you.'
Kennedy said he had been offered a meeting with “junior campaign officials” of Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.
“And I said, 'OK, I'm not interested in that,'” Kennedy recalled.
When Bobby Kennedy endorsed Donald Trump last week, he burned a ship. There's no turning back, either for him or for American politics. This is his first interview since that happened.

When Carlson pressed Kennedy about why Harris hadn't met with him, Kennedy responded: “Maybe. [she] As of Tuesday, Harris had gone nearly 40 days without holding an unscripted news conference on policy solutions.
Kennedy added that some Democrats he knows are comfortable selecting someone who is “unavailable for interviews” because they are electing the “organization” around Harris, not Harris herself.
“But that institution is one I have no confidence in. That institution is the neoconservatives like Antony Blinken who are leading us into World War III. And they are the ones who have masterminded censorship from inside the White House. That is the institution they want re-elected,” he said. “…These are the people who are censoring me. These are the people who tried to kick me out of the party and got the primaries cancelled.”
“Electing institutions is not how democracy works,” Carlson said.
“It's an oligarchy. It's just a fact,” Carlson continued, “… but she won't even talk to you. I find that very strange.”
“It's weird, and I can't stress this enough: You can't do interviews? I mean, your whole life is a public life. That's your job,” Kennedy replied, noting that Trump speaks constantly to reporters “who write rubbish stories about him all the time.”
“Part of the president's role is to explain why we should be proud of each other, why we're part of a community, why our country is great, what our future holds, and to inspire all of us with that vision,” he added. That's what a true leader does. How can he do that when he can't even give interviews to the news media? [organization] Or friendly [news organization]”I can't even prepare for an interview in 40 days.”
Kennedy, a former Democrat and independent, met with Carlson days after endorsing Trump for the presidential election. Kennedy ultimately announced he was suspending his presidential campaign, but this was not the end, and he called on voters in Democratic-leaning states to vote for him, while also expressing his support for former President Donald Trump in battleground states.
