Deaths of 2 Delta workers under federal investigation after wheel mishap at Georgia facility

A federal investigation is underway after an incident at a Delta Air Lines aircraft maintenance facility in Atlanta early Tuesday morning that left two company employees dead and a third seriously injured, Fox Digital reported.

Delta said the fatal accident happened just after 5 a.m. at a maintenance facility in its Technical Operations Center adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Delta said the incident involved a wheel part that was not attached to the aircraft and had been disassembled for maintenance, and the injured worker is still receiving treatment after the accident.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirmed to Fox Digital on Wednesday that it has opened an investigation into the incident.
